Garden Center Associate

The Garden Center Sales Associate's primary responsibility is to assist customers and take care of the garden center with a friendly demeanor and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
- Follow supervisors’ instructions accurately
- Abide by all company policies and safety practices
- Assist customers in finding products and plants
- Water plants and perform other plant maintenance tasks
- Nursery maintenance and upkeep
- Receive, unload, and take inventory of products from incoming trucks
- Cashier duties as needed
- Other duties as needed
Job Requirements
- Horticulture background preferred
- Must be a friendly, enthusiastic, and dependable team player
- Must maintain a high standard of customer service
- Great work ethic
- Timeliness and dependability critical
- Work as part of a team and take direction well
- Proper use and care of all tools, equipment and machinery
- Ability to work in accordance with safety and company standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, other crew members and customers
- Experience operating equipment such as a forklift, Bobcat, or front-end loader a plus
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on occasion and 25 pounds regularly
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
- Must be able to pass a background check and a drug screen
